A Swedish innovative scale-up company in sustainable wood and modular construction is now seeking an experienced Chairperson to contribute to the next phase of growth.
About the Company
The company develops and commercializes wood-based cradle-to-cradle building systems for load-bearing frames, as well as modular wall and floor solutions for multi-family housing, schools/preschools, and light industrial buildings.
At its core is a patented system of prefabricated components that enables very fast assembly times, reduced climate impact, and high cost predictability. The company owns its IP, system design, quality manuals, and certifications, creating a strong position in the transition towards industrial, circular, and climate-positive construction.
The Board
The role involves approximately 10–15 hours per month and can be conducted on-site in southern Sweden/Skåne, in a hybrid format, or remotely. For the right person, there is also an opportunity for a minor co-investment/convertible engagement on market terms.
Focus Areas for the Role:
• Professional board work and active support to management and owners
• Capital structure and financing solutions (bank, ALMI, leasing, convertibles)
• Partner-driven delivery model
• Risk management, KPI monitoring, and cash flow management
Who Are We Looking For?
Growth and Expansion
• You have a commercial background and a business-driven mindset.
• Experience and/or strategic capability to initiate new business and operational areas.
• Experience working in an entrepreneur-driven international company.
• Ability to hold regular check-in meetings with the owners.
Leadership and Chairperson Role
• You have extensive experience leading boards and companies.
• Ability to coach and set demands for the CEO.
Personal Qualities
• You are attentive, empathetic, and innovative.
• You can be both courageous and analytical.
• You possess strong communication and presentation skills.
Strategic Capability
• You have the ability to develop and implement long-term business plans.
Geographical and Industry Experience
• You have a relevant network and business contacts, preferably within southern Sweden.
• Knowledge of our industry or the ability to quickly understand and learn about the industry.
Education
• You have a relevant academic background or equivalent experience from the workforce.
• Certification in board work is an advantage.
Time Horizon
• You should be able to commit to serving as Chairperson for at least 4 years.
