**Description of the Workplace**
Department of Educational Administration, Language and Literature Centre
At the Language and Literature Centre (SOL), we educate around 8,000 students annually across 500 courses and approximately ten programs.
As an academic advisor, you will be centrally located at SOL in the Department of Educational Administration, working alongside educational administrators, but your tasks will be within one or more subjects at the department. The department consists of around 20 employees in a close-knit and supportive team. As an academic advisor, you play a crucial role in supporting both students and the program director and teachers.

**Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility**
We are seeking an academic advisor for the university subjects of English and Rhetoric. Your responsibilities will include subject-specific and general academic guidance tailored to the questions and needs of students, as well as administration related to the announcement and admission to courses and programs within the subjects, in collaboration with the program directors. The subject-specific academic guidance also includes some career guidance, which requires a solid grounding in language studies and an understanding of the role of the humanities and students' opportunities in the job market.
You will also be responsible for preparing decision-making documents in student matters, such as applications for exemptions and credit transfers. You will create educational texts in collaboration with the program director and teachers and represent the department's undergraduate education in various contexts, such as at introductory meetings and public events. The workload varies throughout the year, with periods of high demand during the start and end of terms, as well as during registration periods.
You need to be able to manage several different administrative systems and tools, such as NyA, Lubas, Ladok, and Microsoft 365. The administrative support is continuously evolving, which means you need to be flexible and willing to learn new tasks.

**Requirements for Employment:**
- Academic degree, at least a bachelor's degree, with extensive university studies in language.
- Experience in academic advising at the university level or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
- Good ability to collaborate even under stress.
- Strong ability to independently prioritize in ongoing work, initiative, and good organizational skills.
**Meritorious for Employment:**
- Bachelor's degree in a language subject or education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Good knowledge of and understanding of the challenges and opportunities of the humanities in today's society.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations governing government authorities, particularly in the education sector.
- Good knowledge of Lund University and its organization.
**Other Information**
The position is a temporary contract at 80% of full-time for eight months, starting on January 12, 2026, or by agreement, but no later than September 10, 2026. Interviews are planned for week 51.
