Opportunity to Apply for Study Salary
Are you a nursing student interested in working at the cardiac intensive care unit 50G after completing your education and graduating as a nurse? We offer those starting their 6th semester in the nursing program and who choose to begin their career with us after completing their studies the opportunity to apply for a study salary during their final semester (semester 6).
Growing into the Role
As a newly graduated nurse at Akademiska Hospital, you will receive varied work tasks and a safe and educational start to your new profession. The transition between education and work life can feel significant, and to help you grow into your new role, you will become part of our Clinical Development Year (KUÅ) during your first year with us.
KUÅ is a mandatory professional introduction for newly graduated nurses employed in Region Uppsala, aimed at honing your clinical skills, networking with other new graduates, and having reflection time with experienced nurses.

Our Activity Area
Our area of activity includes cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine, clinical physiology, and thoracic surgery. Cardiac care within our area is conducted in two care units. There is significant development and research happening in this area that is exciting to be part of.
At Unit 50G, we care for, treat, examine, and investigate acute cardiac patients 24/7. Patients are admitted with conditions such as heart attacks, heart rhythm disorders, and heart failure, requiring acute care. We also have our day care unit 50F with planned interventions for heart patients. Patients are called to 50F from home and undergo their treatment or examination during the day, or stay overnight if needed.
Your Mission
When starting as a new nurse in the units, you will receive six weeks of orientation and four days of theoretical training with instruction in relevant cardiac care topics. We have specialized nurses providing clinical guidance to new employees. Continuing education is important to us, and we have a developed introduction program with training.
You will work in a team with nursing assistants and be responsible for heart patients in your care team. Our patients often require heart monitoring. We have a care team with a higher care level where patients needing monitoring with arterial lines or treatment with NIV (non-invasive ventilation) are cared for. As a nurse with us, you will rotate between our inpatient unit 50G and day care unit 50F.
Your Qualifications
We are seeking nursing students starting their 6th semester.
Your Competence
We are looking for someone interested in cardiac care and wanting to work at Unit 50G after completing their degree. We place great importance on personal suitability, such as being responsible and motivated in your work. You have a flexible and curious approach and good collaboration skills. You enjoy a high and varying pace. No prior experience with EKG interpretation is required.
We Offer
We offer a permanent position as a nursing assistant. Upon submitting your license, the position will be converted to a permanent nurse position. Your new position will, unless otherwise agreed, involve full-time work with shift duties around the clock, known as rotation service. You commit to working with us for 12 months after completing your degree. There is an opportunity to work as a nursing assistant during your studies, but this is not required.
We offer benefits that make a difference, read about them here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
