Description of duties
Your mission As a study and career counselor at Sågbäcksgymnasiet, you are a key person in the students' schooling and future. You work closely with school leadership, the counselor, special educators, and mentors to support students in their study choices, career paths, and internships (APL). Your role is both strategic and practical – you guide, motivate, and contribute to creating conditions for all students to succeed. You will, among other things: Conduct individual counseling sessions and provide students with support in their study and career choices. Be responsible for study plans, credit plans, and the enrollment and withdrawal of students. Support students in their internships (APL) and maintain contact with workplaces to create good collaborations. Work closely with program teams and contribute to the development of students' entrepreneurial skills and future choices. Actively participate in student health work and collaborate for safety, well-being, and attendance. Contribute to developing the school's contacts with the labor market, higher education, and other stakeholders. If necessary, take a coordinating role in study and career counseling.
The position is a parental leave substitute from January 7, 2026, to August 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
• Is a qualified study and career counselor.
• Has experience working in upper secondary school, preferably with vocational and introductory programs.
• Has good knowledge of the labor market, vocational training, and further studies.
It is an advantage if:
• You have experience working in primary school and/or adapted upper secondary school.
As a person, you are communicative, solution-oriented, and confident in collaborating with students, colleagues, primary schools, and external contacts. You enjoy thinking innovatively, developing routines, and contributing to the school's quality work. We would like you to have a large network or the ability to establish and develop contacts with employers and other stakeholders.
