About this role

Ref: 20252720 Malmö Latin School is seeking a study and career counselor for a temporary position during the spring term of 2026, with a working percentage of 50%. Depending on your availability, a lower working percentage, but at least 30%, may also be possible. Responsibilities In this role, you will guide and inform students, prospective students, and visitors about study and career opportunities. You will work to enhance students' knowledge about themselves, their choices, and future paths. Through counseling sessions, follow-up on study plans, and coordination of the school's workplace-based learning (APL), you will create conditions for students to make thoughtful and sustainable choices. As part of the school's student health team, you will contribute your expertise to support students in their development. You will collaborate with study and career counselors throughout the city to strengthen students' understanding of the labor market and education. Together with your colleagues, you will develop guidance services and contribute to a learning and sustainable organization. Qualifications Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in study and career counseling (180 credits) • Experience working with children and adolescents • Good knowledge of the school's goals and governing documents • Strong digital competence • Excellent command of Swedish, both spoken and written. Meritorious: • Experience as a study and career counselor with a background in close collaboration with the business sector • Experience working in high schools or classes at the lower secondary level • Familiarity with collaborating with other authorities and participating in various networks. For this position, you must be solution-focused and adapt your working methods based on students' needs and changing circumstances. With an analytical and pedagogical approach, you see connections and help students explore their possibilities. You have strong collaboration skills and contribute to both individual and organizational development. Your work is characterized by a responsive and relational approach, and you plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks in a structured and efficient manner. You value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect oneself and others.
