Akademi Båstads Gymnasium is one of Sweden's smaller municipal high schools and guarantees that the student is placed at the center due to its size. The school has approximately 220 students across seven programs. The small format provides close collaboration and quick information channels between students, teachers, and school staff. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Would you like to make a difference for young people in an important and decisive phase of life? As a study and career counselor at Akademi Båstad Gymnasium, you play a key role in supporting our students throughout their high school journey from the first day to when they take the next step towards higher education, work, or other future dreams. In your role, you will conduct guidance conversations with students to map their needs, create motivation, and help them make well-grounded decisions about their future. You work both individually and in groups with information and guidance efforts, adapting your work based on students' different backgrounds, needs, and conditions. You are also part of the school's student health team where your expertise contributes to creating a safe and supportive school environment. Here, you collaborate with other professionals to give students the best possible conditions to succeed in their studies and reach their goals. The role also includes administrative tasks, such as updating and revising individual study plans and working in the school's student administrative system. Our students are in the transition between youth and adult life, and you are an important link in collaboration with guardians, working life, and further educational pathways. You represent the school in external contexts such as high school fairs and open houses, and contribute to informing and inspiring prospective students about our educational offerings. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is trained as a study and career counselor with professional experience. It is important that you are confident in yourself and can convey this confidence further. You are good at creating relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. To thrive and do a good job at Akademi Båstad Gymnasium, it is essential that you have a flexible mindset, are easy to build relationships with, can meet students in class, and have a professional approach. You are accustomed to documenting your work and collaborating with various instances outside the school. It is also important that you are a positive team player with a desire to learn and develop. You are a creative and innovative person who enjoys trying new ideas and finding new solutions.
