The Department of Social Work is now seeking a student assistant to support an international student exchange for the course "Psychosocial Perspectives on Health and Illness." Some of the course students will collaborate with approximately 15-20 students from Bulgaria and Germany on a project in international project groups. The collaboration will begin digitally and conclude in early June with campus-based instruction here in Gothenburg, known as a Blended Intensive Program (BIP). The purpose of the exchange is to highlight international perspectives on health and illness in times of crisis.
**Responsibilities**
As a student assistant, you will support teachers before and during an Erasmus exchange between institutions. You will be involved in planning and preparations for the exchange, such as booking accommodation, planning student activities, and organizing study visits. A significant part of the role involves being available for students and answering their questions. From June 1-5, when students and teachers are in Gothenburg, you will play an important role in coordinating the visit. You will handle bookings, manage logistics related to travel and transportation, and organize lunches. You will also participate in study visits and other activities during the week. During this week, you will need to be available full-time.
**Qualifications**
To be eligible for a position as a student assistant at the University of Gothenburg, you must, in accordance with the Agreement on Terms for Fixed-Term Employment as a Student Assistant:
• Be enrolled in full-time studies at the university level and have completed approved studies equivalent to at least 60 higher education credits (Chapter 6, Section 2 of the Higher Education Ordinance).
• Not have commenced doctoral studies.
• For this position, very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written, is required.
• Proficiency in Zoom, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of Swedish is an advantage. Experience in the social work program or master's programs in social work, as well as previous experience with international exchanges, is also meritorious.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You are organized and structured in your work approach. We also see that you enjoy working with people, are outgoing and social, as the role involves many new contacts. Since much of the work will be performed independently, you need to be able to plan and take responsibility for your own work. You are solution-oriented, proactive, and have good local knowledge of Gothenburg.
**Employment**
The position is a fixed-term employment of 20% for 2 months during the spring, based at the Department of Social Work. The start date will be agreed upon. The work schedule will be planned in consultation between you and the employer.
