About the Operation
Strömslundsskolan is located on the west side of the river in Trollhättan.
Our facility includes students from preschool class to year 9, as well as an after-school program. We are a receiving school within an equal school system. Our school has a high proportion of experienced and licensed teachers. Our students feel safe at the school and achieve good study results. The school is characterized by excellent collaboration among colleagues and a good work environment.
Job Responsibilities
As the school has an increased need for student support, we are now seeking reinforcement in the form of a student supporter for students who require extraordinary special support. These students have varying support needs but require a person who can develop the learning environment and support the student's learning while working for the student's best interests in relation to themselves and in interactions with peers and other adults.
We seek someone who, through solid knowledge of what facilitates learning, contributes support and solutions regarding clarifications, aids, and structure in both the physical and psychosocial environment, for all students but specifically for students with functional variations.
Job tasks include working with individual students and students in smaller groups. You will participate in planning, implementing, documenting, and following up the pedagogical activities together with the team, where teachers have ultimate responsibility for instruction. You should want and be good at working with others but also capable of taking independent responsibility and should be a good adult role model in everything you do. The position may involve bus supervision, which means accompanying students to and from school in planned school transportation.
Qualifications
For this position, we require:
- Education as a student assistant, support pedagogue, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Knowledge of various functional variations and how they affect learning for individual students and their environmental interactions
- Knowledge of low-affective approach and clarifying pedagogy in both theory and practice
- Mission awareness where the goal is always for each student to progress as far as possible in their learning
- Being responsible and working well in teams and independently
- Ability to provide good references from previous work with children/students demonstrating practical application of your knowledge
Meritorious experience includes working with older students in middle and high school who need support in various ways, and experience working in special instruction groups with multiple students with support needs.
