We are now seeking a strategic procurement specialist in the medical technology/IT area. With us, you will become part of a modern category-driven procurement team where you will work with procurement processes for operations in Sörmland and Västmanland Regions.
Work Responsibilities
As a strategic procurement specialist, you will work in a modern procurement organization where you are expected to take clear responsibility. The role involves project managing the entire procurement process, from needs analysis to implementation and contract follow-up. Work tasks include contract monitoring and building business-oriented dialogue with suppliers and internal requesters. Based on our shared goals, you will provide a business-oriented and resource-efficient procurement process and serve as a knowledge resource in matters related to procurement law, business strategy, and stakeholder management.
In the role, you are expected to handle varied work tasks, both strategic and more administrative aspects. Based on your previous experience and personal preferences, there is an opportunity to develop the position's content, with the aim of ensuring your satisfaction and professional growth. As a strategic procurement specialist, you will belong to the procurement unit, which is one of three units within the procurement organization and consists of approximately 20 procurement specialists, investment coordinators, and contract controllers. In this role, you will also be part of a category-driven procurement team alongside other roles such as operational procurement specialists, tactical procurement specialists, and category leaders.
About the Workplace
Procurement is a joint central function for both Sörmland and Västmanland Regions. This means we are responsible for the regions' procurements of goods, services, and construction contracts with a procurable spend of approximately 9 billion SEK per year.
The procurement organization is a resource for business support in all types of procurement issues. We also have overall responsibility for e-commerce in Sörmland Region. Our location spans Sörmland and Västmanland Regions. We work with a category-driven approach, which means we group our procurements based on the supplier market to achieve maximum possible benefit. Together, we work to develop the procurement organization through efficient resource utilization to support the regions' operations towards a balanced economy. The procurement organization currently consists of 42 employees with extensive knowledge and commitment to the entire procurement process. Qualifications
We seek candidates with university/college education in economics, IT, law, technology, healthcare, or post-secondary education such as vocational programs, university courses, or relevant work experience. Advanced degrees in IT, law, or medical technology are advantageous. Preferably, you have experience in procurement and tendering, particularly in IT and medical technology with application of LOU/LUF in public sector. Independent procurement experience is highly valued, as is experience in market analysis and business strategy work.
We require excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. English language proficiency is considered an advantage.

Employment Terms
Permanent, full-time position. Possible work locations: Eskilstuna, Nyköping, Katrineholm, and Västerås. Start date and location by agreement. Work may involve travel between Sörmland and Västmanland. We offer half-time remote work.
