Strategic Buyer – Consulting Assignment in the Manufacturing Industry
We are now seeking an experienced Strategic Buyer for an exciting consulting assignment with a leading player in the manufacturing industry. This role is ideal for those who want to take full commercial responsibility while contributing to both cost efficiency and long-term supplier development.
About the Role:
As a consultant, you will hold a central and business-critical position within the client's purchasing organization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing selected suppliers and ensuring compliance with contracts and KPIs.
- Driving commercial activities in projects and programs.
- Continuously evaluating the market and optimizing the supplier portfolio.
- Preparing request for proposals, analyzing bids, conducting negotiations, and placing purchase orders.
- Leading cross-functional teams focused on improvements and more efficient processes.
- Ensuring adherence to purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures.
The role involves numerous internal and external contacts, as well as travel within Sweden for supplier visits and evaluations.
Requirements Profile:
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
- 3–7 years of experience in strategic purchasing.
- A background in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Proven experience in negotiation and supplier development.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, purchasing systems, and Excel.
- The ability to work in a structured manner, quickly familiarize yourself with new processes, and collaborate effectively.
Additional Information:
- Work Model: Hybrid (3 days/week on-site in Linköping)
- Assignment Period: December 1, 2025 – November 30, 2026
- Extension: Possibility exists
- Travel: Occasional travel within Sweden related to supplier evaluations
