**About Us**
The Recycling and Water Department exists for the residents of Gothenburg. We are responsible for ensuring that some of Gothenburg's most important community services function, 24 hours a day, all year round. Through our work with water, sewage, and waste, the Recycling and Water Department contributes to creating a circular society that enables residents to live sustainably. Our vision is "We make it easy to live sustainably," and our work is truly important.
Gothenburg is growing like never before. We are working to secure the drinking water supply to the city by building and maintaining the infrastructure underground. We influence and plan for the construction of a Gothenburg that can meet tomorrow's climate challenges. We also ensure that the waste generated by residents is collected and treated correctly. We work long-term to raise awareness and change behavior among residents regarding recycling and the use of drinking water.
We are a fee-financed administration with extensive expertise, employing around 600 staff. Within the organization, we have the competence to fulfill our mission—both in planning and executing our work.
