About this role
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
The Health and Medical Care Administration's office is part of Region Västerbotten's overarching administrative operations. In this office, you will be part of a strong team of strategists, investigators, operational developers, and administrators within the healthcare sector, with a strong focus on supporting the development of methods and processes aimed at creating conditions for the healthcare system to provide purposeful and effective care.
We are now seeking a strategist focused on accessibility to enable long-term development, improved accessibility, and increased quality in care. The role is already established in Region Västerbotten but needs to be strengthened and formalized to meet future demands for collaboration, analysis, and management. Issues related to waiting times are also important to monitor from a gender equality perspective.
As a strategist in this area, you will report directly to the head of the Health and Medical Care Administration's office, based in Umeå.
We prioritize the well-being and balance of our employees and offer many opportunities for professional development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure equitable, effective, and transparent healthcare, clear coordination of accessibility issues is required at both operational and strategic levels. As an accessibility strategist, you will have a coordinating role in the accessibility work within Region Västerbotten, working at national, regional, and local levels.
Your responsibilities include gathering and validating data from primary care and specialized care for the national waiting time database, which enables quality assurance and monitoring of the care guarantee. You will be responsible for strategic initiatives related to national agreements, such as Increased Accessibility in Healthcare, where you will formulate and follow up on action plans based on conditions and performance requirements in collaboration with healthcare management.
The role also serves as a link between operations and management, acting as a point of contact for both regional and national stakeholders such as SKR (Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions) and the National Board of Health and Welfare. An ongoing task is to contribute to the development and implementation of common routines within the SUSSA collaboration.
You will collaborate with the region's developers in digitalization, production and capacity management, care navigation, other offices, and care operations. As a strategist, you are a key person in translating strategic goals into practical change, working with interpretation issues and unified routines.
The role of strategist may also involve other tasks within the office's mission, such as quality and development work in healthcare.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for candidates with a higher education degree in a relevant field such as healthcare or social sciences.
This role requires strong communication skills that enable you to meet and collaborate with various healthcare professionals. You should have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing. You also possess a strong ability to challenge traditional working methods and have experience in change processes.
You have analytical skills and system knowledge that allow you to work based on the principle of continuous improvement and renewal of operations for increased accessibility, always with the citizens' perspective and the development of healthcare in focus.
