Job Description Are you looking for a role where you are encouraged to find new solutions to make everyday life easier for the residents of Örebro? Then this newly created position as Strategist for Street and Traffic at the Technology and Service Administration might be for you. As a strategist within Street and Traffic, you have a key role in developing and coordinating the long-term work with the municipality's infrastructure. The assignment includes responsibility for safe and sustainable streets, bridges, and dams, as well as satisfactory lighting in Örebro municipality. You will work on creating a comprehensive overview of the unit's work and actively contribute to Örebro municipality's vision of being Scandinavia's most attractive mid-sized city. The position involves close collaboration with the unit manager, engineers, other strategic functions, and external parties, where you drive change and development at both operational and strategic levels. The unit employs over 52 people, including 25 in the parking group, 15 in the authority and traffic group, and 12 directly reporting to the unit manager. Responsibilities • Develop and implement long-term strategies for Street and Traffic operations • Lead and participate in projects, coordination meetings, and development initiatives within and between units • Work with business development, change management, and process improvement • Coordinate annual operational orders and follow up with the Construction and Operations unit • Drive budget-related issues, investment planning, and operational compensation • Handle incoming cases, referrals, and citizen feedback • Participate in detailed plan reviews, land surveying, and preparation processes • Coordinate and monitor fees, tariffs, and legislative changes • Provide strategic support to managers and colleagues within your area of expertise • Ensure compliance with laws, guidelines, and policies in the area (e.g., PBL, road maintenance law, Traffic Ordinance) • Participate in cross-departmental investigations and, to some extent, internal investigations in specific areas such as private road maintenance Qualifications We are seeking someone with a holistic perspective, who is structured and proactive. You easily create trusting relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders – both internally and externally. You have strong communication skills, are quality-conscious, and work in a solution-oriented manner. You enjoy taking responsibility, independently driving your cases, and creating results together with others. We place great importance on personal suitability. • University education of at least 180 ECTS credits in a relevant field, e.g., urban planning, road and water, civil or construction engineering • Several years of experience in strategic and development work within municipal operations, preferably in parks, streets, or similar technical areas • Good knowledge of current legislation, e.g., PBL, road maintenance law, Traffic Ordinance • Basic knowledge of street space design in areas such as construction, streets, stormwater, water areas, buildings, or similar • Experience with budget work and financial follow-up • Class B driver's license Meriting: • Experience with relevant operational systems such as W3D3, Office365, Map Systems, Raindance, etc. • Construction law • Knowledge of LOU (Public Procurement Act) About the Company Örebro Municipality As an employee at the Technology and Service Administration, you will have a meaningful job in a broad, socially important operation that affects all Örebro residents every day!
