Bmss Billdals Björkväg is a residence for children and young people with autism, ADHD, and moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
The age range of the residents is currently 13-20 years.
You will work in a small team alongside two other support educators and a unit manager. Your primary task will be to ensure quality in the operations, focusing on evidence-based methods and in accordance with laws and guidelines.
As a support educator, you will have overall responsibility for the educational work within the operation. By training and supporting your colleagues, you will also be responsible for ensuring that the work with social documentation complies with laws and guidelines and that the social documentation is of high quality.
You will inspire the team to learn and develop by motivating and engaging both colleagues and the youth living at Billdal, thereby providing them with good opportunities to grow and succeed.
An important part of your assignment is also to encourage and work towards good collaboration with all individuals in the person’s network. You will actively monitor the external environment and inform and engage your support assistant colleagues. Our operations must always follow evidence-based methods and we strive to be in continuous development.
Qualifications
For the position of support educator, a post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, which includes at least 200 vocational points or 60 university credits or a combination that corresponds to at least two semesters of full-time studies. The training must clearly focus on the entire disability field.
Communication is a vital part of the job, requiring you to have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet these qualification requirements may be offered a language test through the testing provider Educateit.
Experience with social documentation and knowledge of applicable legislation for LSS, HSL, SoL is also a requirement. You should also have previous experience with autism and intellectual disabilities, as well as knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and clear pedagogy from previous work experiences.
It is advantageous if you have prior experience using sensory stimulation as a method and experience with sign language as support. Experience with low-arousal responses based on Studio 3 and/or Durewall is also meritorious.
