Do you want a challenging and rewarding job in a homely environment? We are currently seeking a support pedagogue for a temporary position at Vassmolösa Children and Youth Home.
About the role
As a support pedagogue, you will work closely with your colleagues in direct support of the users. Additionally, you will implement and apply Nytida's framework for pedagogy and contribute to the design of personalized pedagogy for the users. This is to support them in utilizing their cognitive and social abilities, strengthen their self-esteem, and enable a health-promoting life by serving as a role model and motivating them towards wellness activities. Together with other staff members, you will work towards making each day meaningful and enriching, thereby performing care-related tasks, ensuring comfortable premises, and participating in activities with the users. You will also support colleagues in social documentation and implementation plans.
Working hours are scheduled during daytime, evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
About the unit
Vassmolösa is an LSS residence aimed at young people aged 13-18 (or for as long as they are in school) who have a diagnosis within the autism spectrum and/or intellectual disabilities.
We work individually tailored based on Nytida's framework for pedagogy, which is built on low-arousal responses, clarification pedagogy, and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). Our working method is individually tailored to ensure that each young person has the best conditions for quality of life, participation, self-determination, and meaningfulness. With calmness, security, and structure, we support young people in leveraging their strengths and embracing their interests.
We are a small team that works closely together, with collaboration among colleagues being our focal point. We support the youth, step by step, towards greater independence, preparing them for adult life. Our implementation plans are based on the young person’s needs, strengths, and interests. In all activities, we consider the young person’s right to participation and independence according to their abilities.
The residence is located 23 kilometers south of Kalmar in a village called Kvarnlyckan. Here, beautiful nature, walking trails, the sea, and beaches are nearby. The closest bus stop is 2.3 kilometers from the residence, and it takes 30 minutes to reach Kalmar by public transport. A short drive away, various recreational activities are available in the area, such as bowling, swimming pools, cinemas, skateparks, playgrounds, ice rinks, libraries, and more.
