About this role

About the Role

Emmaboda Municipality is in an exciting development phase where the modern small town is being built. The municipality is a hub in the heart of southeastern Sweden, with proximity to both beautiful nature and the cities of Kalmar, Karlskrona, and Växjö. The overarching and shared goal is to continuously evolve so that the municipality is an attractive place to live, work, and thrive, as well as an appealing employer.

Job Description

We are seeking a support pedagogue for our short-term accommodation, short-term supervision, and accompaniment services for children and young people under the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). Here, you will encounter a competent and professional team that collaborates both within the team and with other professionals to create the best possible development for the individual. We work based on IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), meaning that the child’s/young person’s needs, resources, and desires are the starting point for everything we do. Together, we create meaningful and tailored support, where every child/young person is given the opportunity to actively participate in their own development. The aim of the operation is to offer a safe, stimulating, and high-quality stay, where every effort is based on applicable legislation, guidelines, and, above all, the child’s/young person’s needs according to IBIC. In your role, you will:

  • Plan the stay for children and young people together with support assistants, support pedagogues, and the unit manager;
  • Collaborate with guardians;
  • Design implementation plans;
  • Work with social documentation.

Together, we contribute to maintaining high quality in the operation.

Qualifications

  • Higher vocational education as a support pedagogue or equivalent training focused on pedagogy and the field of disabilities.
  • Strong ability to work independently, take responsibility, and collaborate in a team.
  • Knowledge of pedagogical methods, low-arousal response, and clarification pedagogy.
  • Good skills in various communication methods, documentation, and IT support.
  • You are engaged, empathetic, and solution-focused. You have a low-arousal approach, strong communication skills, and a genuine interest in supporting children and young people in their development.
  • Experience in the field combined with personal suitability is highly valued, and you possess a valid driver's license for passenger vehicles.
