The Work and Welfare Administration consists of Individual and Family Care, Support, Service and Housing, as well as Education, Work and Prevention. In total, we are approximately 300 employees who work salutogenically and solution-oriented with a knowledge base in scientifically grounded methods.
Our mission is to help and support individuals with social problems and/or functional impairments, work preventively and promotively to counteract exclusion and social problems, and through studies or employment find a way into working life towards self-sufficiency. Location: Solviken
Solviken is a group home located in Valjeviken, close to forest and sea. Solviken consists of five apartments and pleasant common areas. A garden with grilling options and community is available. There are beautiful natural areas nearby.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role of support assistant, you will provide support and service based on the residents' wishes, both at home and during leisure activities. You will contribute to enabling residents to have an active and meaningful existence.
The work involves supporting tenants in their daily care and life management through a clarifying and motivating approach. You will assist in everything to increase the possibility of an independent life, such as managing their own apartment, personal hygiene, and more, fully adapted to the specific needs of the tenants.
You will also support residents in meaningful leisure activities, based on an active lifestyle. This includes maintaining contact with the residents' network, such as relatives, guardians, and daily activities, among others.
Since needs vary among residents, no two days are alike, which contributes to a challenging and exciting job.
Delegated healthcare tasks and contact with healthcare staff are part of the work.
Working hours are scheduled for day shifts, evening shifts, and two weekends out of four.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking someone with education in a care program focused on disabilities, children and leisure, or another education that the employer deems equivalent.
We are looking for someone with the following qualities: humble, flexible, initiative-taking, and responsible. You should easily collaborate but also be comfortable working independently.
It is meritorious if you have worked with clarifying pedagogy (TEACCH), AAC, and low-affective approach. It is also advantageous to have experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum and with intellectual disabilities.
Documentation and communication are important parts of daily work, so you need good Swedish language skills in speech and writing. If approved Swedish grades at the high school level are lacking, a language test will be used to ensure competence. The recruiting manager may decide that a language test should be used even if approved grades exist.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
B driver's license and computer proficiency are required.
