About this role
We are currently seeking staff for Saveko. At Saveko, we have a fantastic and creative work environment where we all work together! Are you looking for an exciting and developing job? Are you driven by working with individuals with disabilities and want to help develop our operations? Then you might be our new colleague. We welcome your application!
Your role with us
In our organization, we employ individuals who have been assigned daily activities according to LSS (the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and SOL (the Social Services Act). The employment is tailored to individual abilities, aiming to increase self-esteem and self-awareness. We use clear pedagogical methods in the form of structure and alternative communication, including visual aids and sign language support. We also use motivational interviewing. It is fundamental for participants to be involved in shaping their daily activities, achieved through workplace meetings, the establishment of implementation plans, and also in daily conversations and tasks.
Your primary responsibilities involve providing our participants with practical and theoretical support in their tasks within the daily activities, both individually and in groups, while also developing and maintaining skills and communication considering their disabilities. You will support the participants' engagement at various levels: individual, group, and community levels, as well as promote self-determination and personal integrity.
As a contact person, you will be responsible for creating and following up on implementation plans. Furthermore, you will be accountable for social documentation according to applicable guidelines and other responsibilities associated with the operations. Driving a car and operating a forklift are significant aspects of the role.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who recognizes strengths and abilities and can help our participants build upon them. You are positive, socially competent, and possess good collaboration skills. Additionally, you need to be flexible, resilient to stress, capable of working on others' directives, and making independent decisions while working collaboratively with participants. It is important that you have an interest in and aptitude for managing our operations and their content, which includes practical work with reuse, assembly, and sales in a store. The role may involve physically demanding tasks and can sometimes be stressful with multiple responsibilities to manage simultaneously.
You possess education from the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social work, pedagogical work, or the Care and Nursing Program with a vocational specialization in disability or psychiatry, or other education that the employer finds equivalent. You have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, and experience with people who have mental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors is advantageous.
Since the job requires communication and documentation, we expect you to be computer literate and proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written. We also want you to have knowledge of AAC (alternative and augmentative communication, including visual aids and sign language support) and social documentation. The job requires a driving license (B-category) and it is advantageous if you have a forklift license and experience operating a forklift.
About us
Saveko is a large daily activity center for individuals interested in reuse, assembly, and retail. Currently, the operations are located in Snårarp but will move to Returum, the municipal recycling center, after the turn of the year. Participants work on salvaging, reusing, and dismantling items donated by the public. We handle collection and sales in our second-hand store. The operations are part of what we call production activities, meaning we work with deliveries to clients. With the startup at Returum, weekend shifts during the day and some evening work until 7 PM will be required.
The Elderly Care Administration caters to the elderly and individuals who require functional support, as well as those in need of home healthcare. The operations are divided into four areas: support in ordinary housing, support in care and nursing housing, health and medical care, and functional support. The administration also includes the authority unit, national gymnasium program, and assistive technology center in Eastern Skåne.
