About this role

About Us

Since 1905, the Betaniahemmet Association has simplified day-to-day life for individuals who, due to disabilities, require support in their daily activities. Every day, we work to ensure that all people have the opportunity to succeed.

As an employee with us, you will be an important resource in making a difference in the lives of others.

We are also unique in the industry as our association operates entirely without profit motives. As an employee, you will work to help create a sustainable association with an established brand in the Gothenburg area.

Do you want to make a difference? Become part of our team!

Are you a dedicated and caring person who wants to contribute to a meaningful everyday life for others? We are currently seeking a support assistant for our LSS residence in nature-surrounded Sisjön – a group home for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.

Here, you will help build a safe, structured, and developmental work team where every day makes a difference.

About the Role

As a support assistant, you are a key person in our residents' daily lives. You provide individually tailored support in everything from daily chores and leisure activities to personal care. Your work is based on each individual’s implementation plan and aims to strengthen independence, participation, and quality of life.

You will work in a team where collaboration, commitment, and respect for the individual are central. The role also involves documentation, follow-up, and method development.

Our Working Methods

We employ established methods such as:

  • Low-affect responses
  • Clear pedagogical approaches
  • Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)

To ensure you feel secure in your role, we offer method guidance, professional development, and close leadership.

Working Hours and Scope

The position involves scheduled work during the day, evenings, on-call, and every other weekend. We can offer a full-time position, but there is the possibility for a lower employment percentage if desired. Full-time corresponds to 37 hours per week.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has training as a support assistant, nursing assistant, preschool teacher, or equivalent education in care, support, or pedagogy.
  • Has several years of experience in LSS, preferably with individuals with autism and challenging behaviors.
  • Is self-reliable, patient, and responsible.
  • Has a positive approach and contributes to good cooperation within the team.

It Is Considered an Advantage if You Have:

  • Extensive experience working with autism, challenging behaviors, and low-affect responses.
  • Experience with documentation and record-keeping.
  • Experience with PEG, AAC, and clear pedagogical approaches.
  • A B driver's license.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Additional Information

A police clearance certificate will be required before employment, along with diplomas and work references.
