The Workplace The Social Administration in Karlsborg is responsible for elderly care, services for individuals with disabilities, municipal health and medical care, as well as individual and family care. The administration has approximately 250 employees. We work with a user-oriented approach where our work is guided by the needs of the users. The Social Administration in Karlsborg Municipality operates based on a common ethical framework founded on the principles of respect, responsiveness, and self-determination. The disability services department carries out all interventions regulated by LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled People), which includes special housing services and daily activities. The primary task of the department is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in community life for individuals with disabilities. We are currently looking for staff for the Boken group home for both day/evening service and night service. Job Responsibilities The main task is to pedagogically stimulate and motivate the user towards participation and an independent life. You will support users in everyday activities such as household chores, personal care, and leisure activities. All work is based on the user’s individually established implementation plan. As a support assistant, you should apply an ethical approach that promotes each individual's self-determination, integrity, and participation while ensuring a predictable daily life for every user. Documentation in the operational system, as well as executing health and medical tasks according to prescriptions or instructions and under delegation, such as medical, rehabilitative, and habilitative interventions, and medication handling is included in the assignment. Qualifications We are looking for someone with experience working in LSS residential services. You should be a trained support assistant, nursing aide, or have other qualifications that the employer deems equivalent. We need someone who is responsive to the needs of the user and has the ability to put the user’s needs at the center. As a person, you should have a respectful demeanor and be able to collaborate easily with users, relatives, colleagues, and other professionals working with the user. You are responsible and can work independently as well as in a team. It is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language to work according to written routines, engage in dialogue with both users and colleagues, as well as document in the operational system. Previous experience in care work, particularly within LSS services, is advantageous. Knowledge of clear pedagogical methods and cognitive support, as well as training in supported communication, is desirable. Personal suitability will be highly valued.
