The workplace The Social Services Administration in Karlsborg is responsible for elderly care, care for individuals with disabilities, municipal health and medical care, as well as individual and family care. The administration has approximately 250 employees. We operate with a user-oriented approach where our work is guided by the needs of our users. A colleague is going on parental leave, and we are now seeking an engaged support assistant for one of our daily activities within LSS. Our operations primarily target individuals with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and/or autism, as well as those with mental health issues. Activities are conducted both indoors and outdoors and are designed according to each individual's abilities, interests, and goals. In the daily operations, two support assistants and one support educator work closely together and collaborate with colleagues from other daily activities within the municipality. Together, we form a competent team focused on the needs and development of our participants. Job Responsibilities All interventions are shaped around each individual’s needs, wishes, and conditions. Our days are filled with varied activities. The main task is to stimulate and motivate the user to participate and lead an independent life in a pedagogical manner. The role includes guiding various activities, enhancing independence and development, as well as documenting interventions and progress. The work also involves providing communicative and cognitive support based on each participant's needs. Care-related tasks are also included in the daily work. You will help create meaningful activities for and alongside our participants. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant education, for example, from the Health and Care Program. You have experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly in daily activities, and possess good knowledge of the disability sector—especially regarding communication and cognition. You have previously worked in a motivating and supportive manner to enhance individuals’ participation and independence. Experience with documentation systems is an advantage, and you have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as the work involves communication with participants, developing implementation plans, and documenting interventions. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. As activities take place at various locations, a B driver's license is required. To succeed in the role of a support assistant, you need to be attentive to the user's needs and have the ability to place those needs at the center. We expect you to have a respectful approach and be easy to collaborate with participants, relatives, colleagues, and other professionals working with the user. You are accountable and can work independently as well as in a team.
