Steril Technician/Care Assistant for the Surgical Clinic's Sterile Center

With us, you will have a meaningful job, modern equipment, engaged colleagues, and the opportunity to grow in your professional role. **Job Responsibilities** As a sterilization technician, you will be responsible for handling medical technical products from unclean to sterile goods. This work involves starting and monitoring disinfection processes to ensure that the goods are highly clean and disinfected. Additionally, you will be involved in instrument care, functional checks, inventory counts, and packaging of instruments for further handling. An important part of the job is also to start and monitor sterilization processes and to approve that the goods are correctly sterilized. To maintain a high hygienic standard, you will use approved and documented quality assurance methods in your daily work. **About the Workplace** The Surgical Clinic in Västmanland is part of the Health and Medical Care Administration and is responsible for the operational activities as well as sterilization technology throughout the region. The Sterilization Unit, which is part of the Surgical Clinic, handles all sterilization technical operations. In the Sterilization Unit in Västerås, there are 20 sterilization technicians and nursing assistants, as well as two unit managers. It is advantageous if you have completed courses in instrument care, sterilization technology, and/or disinfection. Experience from working in a surgical clinic and knowledge of the T-doc system are also considered great assets. To succeed in this role, you need to be computer literate, as the job involves handling the department's quality assurance system (traceability system). Since the position requires both oral and written documentation, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
