Stenungsunds Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 28,030 inhabitants, a strong business community, living environments near the sea, and excellent communication opportunities. The municipality is organized into one administration with four sectors. The Education Sector includes preschools and primary schools with associated school childcare, special education schools, high school, adult education, and Culture and Leisure.
Preschools in Stenungsunds Municipality work based on national policy documents and are responsible for offering childcare for children between 1 and 5 years old. In 2022, the Early Interventions initiative was launched to ensure every child's right to an equivalent education. Focus areas include Language Development, Play-Responsive Teaching, and Clarifying Pedagogy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Preschools in Stenungsunds Municipality are part of the Early Interventions initiative aimed at promoting an equivalent preschool experience. This is achieved by dividing children into smaller groups to enhance social interaction, language, and communication. Our focus areas are clarifying pedagogy, language-developing approaches, and play-responsive teaching.
We work systematically with continuous evaluations of Early Interventions at different levels, both locally and centrally. Special education teachers and lead preschool teachers provide support in our work. Professional development is directed towards Early Interventions, and we are part of a network with the University of Gothenburg focusing on Play-Responsive Teaching.
Your role as a preschool teacher is to ensure and contribute to high-quality instruction. Your approach to implementing the curriculum contributes to children's development and learning. You create a space where children are empowered - through play, learning, and feeling secure. You thus create the best conditions for children's time in preschool and their future educational journey. Your work is important, and you are building today's and tomorrow's global citizens!
