The Department of Medical and Translational Biology at the Faculty of Medicine is now seeking a Staff Scientist in the area of optimizing medication treatment for older adults, with a focus on clinical pharmacy. The position is for 3.5 months, starting January 1, 2026, or by agreement. Description This position is announced for Maria Gustafsson's research group. In this group, we conduct research on medication treatment for older adults and clinical pharmacy. The research includes both pharmacoepidemiological observational studies to investigate how medications are used in this group, including the occurrence of medication-related problems, and intervention studies within clinical pharmacy to examine how medication treatment for older adults can be optimized, how the risk of medication-related readmissions can be reduced, and how quality of life can be improved for older adults. Responsibilities The selected candidate will primarily conduct research within an ongoing intervention study. The work involves implementing the intervention, which includes interviewing patients about their medication use. Additionally, the role includes data collection, statistical analyses, and oral and written presentations related to the current research project. The work will also involve pharmacoepidemiological research. Part of the position will consist of teaching within the pharmacy programs. Qualifications The following qualifications are required: - PhD in clinical pharmacy or clinical pharmacology - Degree in pharmacy - License as a pharmacist - Since part of the work in the project will involve conducting interviews with patients, good language skills in Swedish are required. Meritorious Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered meritorious: - Previous experience in intervention studies within clinical pharmacy - Previous experience in research within pharmacoepidemiology - Previous experience in supervision or having received independent research grants - Strong ability to write and present scientific material - Documented experience in teaching within pharmacy - Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team Conditions The position is full-time and fixed-term for 3.5 months.
