JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are now seeking an Urban Planner for the Urban Planning Department. Our current team of planners and strategists work as project managers in close collaboration both within the department and across the entire municipality. Together with a team of competent colleagues, you'll contribute to providing a growing Nyköping with conditions for a living and sustainable environment. Nyköping continues to experience high pressure on housing development and new establishments, generating detailed planning projects of various scopes requiring planning expertise. Many projects involve urban development within Nyköping's urban area, and we also plan for rural areas and new business zones. As an urban planner, you'll handle early stages, feasibility studies, investigations, and business development, as well as serve as an advisory function in matters and projects concerning the entire urban development area. QUALIFICATIONS We seek candidates with a college or university degree in physical planning, architecture, or an equivalent education. You should have good knowledge of PBL (Plan and Building Act) and planning processes, with several years of experience in detailed planning. We look favorably upon experience in municipal operations and managing complex projects. We also desire experience with Focus Detaljplan, GIS, and Adobe Creative Cloud, and excellent Swedish language skills in both speaking and writing. You have a strong interest in urban planning and urban development issues and a desire to develop and grow. You have a good ability to plan, lead, drive, and coordinate processes and project groups. Sharing your experiences and knowledge is as natural to you as learning new things and allowing yourself to be inspired. You need strong communication skills. You should be comfortable presenting your projects and engaging in dialogue with the public, politicians, and media on design and urban planning issues. As a person, you are responsible, structured, communicative, and enjoy working both independently and in groups. We place great importance on personal suitability.
