Modern Battlefield: Staff Officer Position
The modern battlefield is complex and requires coordination of various capabilities. We are seeking a staff officer who understands this complexity and can work with the department to bring order and clarify complex tasks and stages. Not everyone can be good at everything, so we believe in a team of different individuals with diverse strengths who together become the winning team. You are likely an expert in one area but have the breadth to contribute to the overall mission.
Primary Responsibilities
As a staff officer, you will work both independently and in planning teams. You will be involved in management and governance of operations, primarily in the medium term. This involves coordination within your own unit as well as other Defense Force activities.
Close contact with staff functions/departments is essential, as well as with other parts of the unit. Written orders are the standard management tool. With tasks of varying nature, flexibility, responsiveness, and close contact with the unit's components are prerequisites for success. You are expected to take significant independent responsibility for your tasks. In the absence of a chief, you will act as deputy.

Personal Characteristics
We seek someone who enjoys working independently and takes responsibility for their work area through drive. You have a good ability to solve problems, prioritize, and find alternative solutions. You have strong initiative and can translate theory into practice. As a person, you are confident in yourself and your profession. This contributes to your ability to be a good requirements setter while collaborating with people at different levels and functions.
