Your mission
In the role of a staff officer with a legal focus, you will belong to the Signals Intelligence Department, which conducts signal intelligence in accordance with the law on signal intelligence in defense intelligence operations. The department delivers intelligence reports and other services to the agency's clients.
In this role, you will be part of the department's policy function. This includes gathering information, analyzing and preparing materials and proposals, as well as assisting with legal investigations. You will work independently or in groups, including on more complex tasks and smaller investigative assignments. Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
- Identifying and addressing legal issues that arise within the defense intelligence production, technology, development, and information security areas.
- Being one of the department's contact persons regarding legal matters.
- Supporting the work in the authorization, monitoring, and control processes at the agency.
- Assisting the department's management team with issues related to your assignment and educating and informing employees about internal and external regulations.
You may also work on other common tasks within the staff and cross-agency projects.

We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic degree in law or a similar qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Experience in legal work at another government agency, court, or equivalent.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in security and/or intelligence services.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. A prerequisite for employment is a successful security clearance with a background check. The security clearance will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
