What does the position entail?
As Chief of Staff, you will lead operations on behalf of the Auditor General and the Director General of the National Audit Office to support the agency's management, of which you are also a part. The role includes managerial responsibility for five employees and involves both strategic and long-term work as well as operational tasks such as investigation, planning, and support for the organization.
Examples of tasks include:
• Coordination of the agency's internal governance and control, including long-term planning, operational planning, and follow-up,
• Quality management and coordination of the agency's sustainability work,
• Planning coordination and meeting administration,
• Coordination of the annual report work,
• Coordination of the agency's security and safety work,
• Crisis management and crisis leadership,
• Investigation and analytical support,
• Driving development and future-proofing the agency's work in the area.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has:
• An academic degree,
• Several years of experience working with similar tasks, particularly in internal governance and control within an agency,
• Extensive managerial experience from working as a manager in an agency. It is an advantage if you have been part of an agency's management team,
• Good knowledge of public administration, including planning and budgeting processes,
• Strong technical skills, with the ability to use modern digital tools and systems to drive development,
• Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish, as well as good knowledge of English.
We also place great importance on your personal qualities and competencies, and in addition to your knowledge and experience, we are looking for someone who:
• Has strong leadership abilities and can lead both a staff and projects. You communicate clearly and work cross-functionally with various stakeholders,
• Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex situations, solve problems, and contribute to operational success,
• Can think strategically, identify goals, and develop plans to achieve them. You have good judgment and make sound trade-offs and priorities,
• Is flexible and adapts to changing circumstances. You can quickly adjust your approach and change direction,
• Is self-motivated, structured, and responsible. You are organized and detail-oriented, driving your work and that of others effectively forward,
• Collaborates well both internally and externally, clarifying goals and frameworks, and focusing on results and development.

You will receive a permanent position with an employer that offers all the benefits of state employment. The position is full-time with a four-year appointment as a manager, with the possibility of extension. We will agree together on your start date.
