Infection and Pulmonary Medicine The Infection and Pulmonary Unit at Visby Hospital has 21 inpatient beds and an outpatient clinic. The unit's mission covers both infectious and pulmonary medicine as well as allergology. The operations are dominated by acute inpatient care and elective outpatient services. The medical team staffs inpatient care, outpatient services, and on-call shifts in the emergency department. All specialists are infectious disease physicians, with varying degrees of pulmonary and/or allergological specialization. The operations include major areas of responsibility such as broad acute infectious medicine, obstructive lung diseases, chronic hepatitis, lung cancer, and allergies. The goal of the operations is to offer patients good care with high patient safety and accessibility, and to ensure that patients and their relatives feel involved and well-informed. Your Duties The Infection and Pulmonary Unit is responsible for all acute and elective care of patients with infectious and pulmonary diseases. The position includes typical ward and clinic work, as well as work in the emergency department as an infectious disease on-call physician. You will participate in our consultation services. Teaching and supervising medical students and physicians in training. Serving physicians are infectious disease specialists with further training in pulmonary diseases. If interested, the position can be combined with research and development work, as well as leadership development. On-call duty within infection and pulmonary services is included when the resident physician has achieved the required competence. On-call duty with internal medicine, oncology, and pediatric clinics is part of the assignment. Part of the specialist training takes place on the mainland. Who Are You? We are looking for a licensed physician. Experience working in the Infection and Pulmonary Unit is meritorious. Since the position involves independent work but also includes extensive collaboration within your own professional category and with other professional groups, we seek someone with good communication skills. You should have good collaborative abilities and a strong interest in infectious and pulmonary medicine. As a person, you are responsible, flexible, and solution-oriented. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. A background check through criminal record extract will be conducted before employment decision.
