Specialist Trainee in Internal Medicine

The internal medicine department at Hudiksvall Hospital has a broad mandate and provides care for patients with all types of internal medical conditions. The geographical catchment area is large, which means the department has significant emergency responsibilities as well as a well-equipped outpatient service that includes clinics, day care, dialysis units, and a clinical physiology lab. Internal medicine and cardiology share two wards with a total of approximately 50 beds, including dedicated stroke and cardiac intensive care units. We have good staffing within our subspecialties, and we enjoy a very positive collaborative environment with short communication channels, strong cohesion, and good forums for discussions. **JOB DESCRIPTION** The position includes a comprehensive internal medicine training program that prepares you to manage all common internal medical conditions and also helps you feel secure in your role as a specialist. During your residency, you will also have the opportunity to delve into a future subspecialty. Internal medicine has a strong educational climate and invests in the professional development of residents. Just as the clinic's specialists view the education of residents as essential, we also recognize that residents play an important role in the training and supervision of junior doctors and temporary staff. The content and duration of the residency will be planned in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare’s regulations, the physician's specialization training, and in consultation with supervisors, the study director, and the department head. You will also, especially during on-call hours, often be the highest medical authority on site, which requires a strong ability to collaborate with others, as well as being attentive and communicative. You have the ability to understand another person's perspective or situation, are structured, and take responsibility for your own tasks while also driving your work forward. Furthermore, you are flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances, seeing opportunities in change. As a resident, you should have: • a Swedish medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare • good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. For this position, prior experience in clinical work within internal medicine or cardiology is advantageous.
