Neuro-Head-Neck Center (NHHC) consists of approximately 650 employees and is located at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå. The center provides care with various aspects of investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries to the nervous system, brain, ear, nose, throat, and jaw. The center is a county clinic that offers highly specialized care for patients from the entire northern healthcare region.
The Neurosurgery Clinic provides both planned and emergency services with patients always at the center of care. We have a large patient flow with both short and extended care periods. Our operations include surgical activities, patient care in the neurointensive care unit, ward, and outpatient clinic. We support the entire northern healthcare region with highly specialized neurosurgical care 24/7 throughout the year. We handle treatments such as skull trauma, brain hemorrhages, and intracranial and spinal tumors. We also perform numerous procedures in functional neurosurgery.
Active research is conducted at the clinic in movement disorders including DBS, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and malignant brain tumors. Patients receive high-quality care in a developing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Resident Physician, you will contribute knowledge and commitment that helps people feel secure.
Through your training position, you will receive a comprehensive specialist education and a personal mentor. In addition to standard medical tasks involving medical assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation within our operations, you will also complete various rotational placements to fulfill the National Board of Health and Welfare's target description.
We offer a stimulating and pleasant work environment, continuing education, opportunities for subspecialization and research. We collaborate closely with Umeå University. Teaching and mentoring medical students may also be included. On-call duties are part of the position.
Beyond the specialty-specific program, you will also participate in EKA training. A program focusing on leadership, economics, communication, administration, ethics, and time for personal reflection for Resident Physicians within Region Västerbotten.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have Swedish medical authorization with eligibility to practice in Swedish healthcare, valid no later than upon commencement. You have an interest in specializing in neurosurgery.
Personal suitability and collaborative ability will be considered.
We require excellent Swedish language skills corresponding to level C1.
As a person, you have strong collaborative skills, can communicate fluently in Swedish both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate good interaction with patients and colleagues.
