**Job Responsibilities**
As a resident physician (ST-läkare), you will perform standard duties in both the ward and outpatient clinic, as well as participate in emergency on-call services.
From the outset, you will be independent in your on-call work, and the clinic actively engages in supervision and regular evaluation of your personal development.
The duration of employment is permanent.
**About the Workplace**
At the Department of Medicine at Hallands Sjukhus Varberg, there are specialist physicians in the sections for hematology, nephrology, endocrinology and diabetes, cardiology, gastroenterology, allergy, and neurology. In pulmonary medicine and infectious diseases, we have access to local consultants from the region. Our primary catchment area is northern Halland, but the clinic also has a county-wide responsibility for arrhythmia care.
The Department of Medicine has approximately 80 beds distributed across 4 inpatient wards, as well as outpatient clinics in all specialty areas. We operate a 24/7 medical service in the emergency department. About 70 physicians work in the Department of Medicine, including approximately 45 specialists and 25 residents, along with junior doctors. Additionally, we regularly host medical interns and residents from other clinics for supplementary training, and in 2024, we were voted the best medical clinic in Sweden by medical interns based on SYLF's ranking.
Several of our residents will become specialists during the year, which is why we are now seeking new colleagues who see internal medicine as their future specialty.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for a licensed physician with an interest in general internal medicine.
We expect you to deliver high-quality care and to be confident in your role as a physician. You should be self-sufficient in on-call duties from the beginning, and prior independent work experience as a licensed physician during primary on-call shifts in a medical clinic is advantageous. We require good collaboration skills, as you will work in interdisciplinary teams to provide the best care for residents. As we continually seek new opportunities for development, we see that you are solution-focused and take responsibility for being part of that development. It is essential for us that you are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues and patients. We strongly value the patient perspective.
