The Department of Medicine is part of Primary Care in eastern Östergötland, responsible for close healthcare for over 180,000 residents in Norrköping and surrounding areas. The Department of Medicine is a central clinic at Vrinnevisjukhuset and has a broad internal medicine operation with two wards, extensive outpatient services across various subspecialties, and a nephrology unit. We investigate and treat, for example, blood diseases, diabetes, endocrine disorders, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, neurological disorders, and strokes. We also have a close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at Linköping University (LiU) regarding research and education of medical students and other professional categories in training. The clinic also has two PhD students, supervised by our local associate professors.
If you need to complete a basic clinical training (BT) according to (HSLF-FS 2021:8), it is included as an integral part of your specialist training (ST) with us.

Job Description
At the clinic, patients with internal medicine conditions of varying nature, complexity, and medical needs are cared for. You will be part of an experienced group of physicians in an open environment, where we maintain a constant dialogue with each other regarding assessment, investigation, and treatment of our patients. As a resident (ST) with us, you will receive regular supervision from your mentor. Our ST program director will also follow you throughout your ST training. Good opportunities for research are offered both locally and in collaboration with Linköping University, and we are also keen to provide our students with a good internship.

Work Group
The clinic employs approximately 300 staff members. Currently, we have about 29 specialists/consultants and 17 residents (ST) across seven sections. Since autumn 2023, the clinic has been located in new, fine premises. In the clinic's wards and outpatient departments, we work in teams together with nurses and nursing assistants, and there are also occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists.
About You
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest and commitment to broad internal medicine and acute internal medical conditions and wishes to specialize in one of our subspecialties. A requirement is that you have a Swedish medical license (to be attached to the application) and good knowledge of the Swedish language, at least at level C1, as you will need to communicate fluently with patients, relatives, and colleagues.
You are a good listener and clear in your communication. You collaborate well and are eager to share knowledge and experiences with others in the workgroup, regardless of profession. You have a positive mindset and see opportunities in changes. You have an interest in education and research, and you are a knowledge resource for others.
You take responsibility for your work in an engaged manner and are keen to initiate improvements in the organization from a holistic perspective.
