We are an outpatient clinic and part of the Eye Clinic Västerbotten, which operates in the region's three hospitals: Umeå, Skellefteå, and Lycksele. At all three locations, we focus on education and development. The clinic handles a large patient flow, caring for patients with eye diseases of all ages, from newborns and up. Our operations are conducted during daytime hours on weekdays, including day shifts. We also have an operating unit where anterior eye surgery is performed.
Eye care includes both quick, shorter visits as well as follow-up appointments conducted by eye nurses, orthoptists, and doctors. We have care processes for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, strabismus, and age-related macular degeneration. We often utilize technical equipment for diagnostics and treatment.
In 2022, the clinic underwent a SPUR inspection at all three locations and received a very good rating. We offer excellent supervision.
We have approximately 30 employees, including ophthalmologists, eye nurses, surgical nurses, medical secretaries, nursing assistants, orthoptists, and optometrists.
We are now seeking a resident physician (ST-läkare) in ophthalmology for the Skellefteå location.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a resident physician with us, you will contribute knowledge and engagement that helps people feel secure.
During your residency, you will specialize in the field of ophthalmology. You will primarily work during daytime hours, with day shift duties included. You will actively participate in the development and quality work at the Eye Clinic.
During your training, you will follow an individualized education program with an assigned supervisor. The supervisor's role is to provide teaching and support, offering insights into practical problems at work, while also supporting the development of your professional identity.
In addition to the specialty-specific program, you will also participate in EKA training as a resident physician. This program focuses on leadership, economics, communication, administration, ethics, and personal reflection time for resident physicians within Region Västerbotten.
QUALIFICATIONS
You hold a Swedish medical license with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare by the time of appointment. You have an interest in specializing in ophthalmology.
We expect you to be engaged, competent, and capable of collaborating while contributing to workplace joy and positive change initiatives.
Proficiency in the Swedish language at a level corresponding to C1 is required.
