About this role
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation yield results.
The region's primary care provides comprehensive primary care services throughout Region Västerbotten, catering to patients of all ages, both in urban and rural areas. With 33 health centers and medical clinics, we are wherever you are. We actively engage in research and development, leveraging medical outcomes to offer high-quality care with patient involvement. We want our employees to be engaged, have influence, and feel proud to work in the region's primary care. Here, you have the opportunity for a job that allows you to balance an interesting and developing work life with a rich variety of outdoor activities, both in summer and winter.
The Mid Area is part of the southern Lapland local healthcare area, which serves as a model area in the transition to close care. With effective collaboration and a focus on the citizen, we drive important change initiatives within the region and together with the municipality. Clinical assessment at a distance and digital healthcare meetings are rapidly developing and are a crucial part of ensuring good, close, and accessible care in this area. Therefore, it is no coincidence that we are at the forefront in this field. The medical clinic model, which is an important foundation for close care, shapes both our approach and working methods in the daily operations.
Stenberg Health Center, Lycksele, and Malå Medical Clinic are part of the same base unit and are located in southern Lapland, approximately 90 kilometers apart. The nearest hospital is in Lycksele, where the county's ambulance helicopter is stationed.
The medical clinic functions as a health center with an additional mandate for emergency care. Our use of telemedicine is well developed. We have occupational therapists, midwives, physiotherapists, social workers, doctors, psychologists, secretaries, nurses, and nursing assistants. We provide emergency care as well as routine work at the health center and have a well-developed collaboration among all our professional groups and with the municipalities.
We have extensive cooperation with universities and host many students. There is now an opportunity for a specialist training block focusing on rural medicine in collaboration with GMC Rural Medicine Center, an area that is highly prioritized and undergoing exciting development work.
Other placement locations within the base unit are possible after discussion.
