About this role

Welcome to the Care and Support Administration. We work with support and care for the elderly and persons with disabilities. Our goal is to help them live as active and independent a life as possible. The Care and Support Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and support. Approximately 7,500 employees work here based on our core values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. We offer great opportunities to take personal responsibility, develop, and contribute your skills. We strive for an organizational culture built on mutual trust and pride in our work. More information about working in Uppsala Municipality can be found at https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/vard-halsa-omsorg/ At the Care and Support Administration, full-time employment is our norm. This means all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. More details will be provided during a potential interview. Personal assistants are exempt from this norm. We are now seeking an engaged support pedagogue with experience in care work, for two nature-adjacent group residences in Bälinge. Here, you will have the opportunity to create an active, meaningful, and individualized daily life for our residents. Do you have experience with alternative and complementary communication? Then this might be the job for you! This position involves working across two nearby group residences. The operations serve individuals with multiple disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Both facilities are located in quiet areas of Bälinge, with nature right outside. Staff are present 24/7 with overnight awake staff. We work with alternative complementary communication and clarifying pedagogy. Job Responsibilities As a support pedagogue, you will provide support and service based on the residents' wishes, both at home and during leisure activities. You will contribute to enabling residents to have an active and meaningful existence. You will need to recognize each person's individual needs and conduct pedagogical work accordingly. Since needs vary between users, no two days are alike, which makes the work both challenging and exciting. You will work closely with residents alongside your colleagues and have significant responsibility to guide, drive, and develop the pedagogical work in consultation with the unit manager. The role also includes delegated healthcare tasks. Qualifications We are seeking candidates who have: • High school education and a support pedagogue degree (200 vocational points or 60 university credits) focused on disability support • Experience with AAC (Alternative and Complementary Communication) • Care work experience • Familiarity with low-affective approaches and challenging behaviors • Experience with administration in systems like Lifecare and Widgit Online • Comfort with structure and working according to routines • Strong Swedish language skills, spoken and written • Valid driver's license (B-license) Additional merit will be given for experience with tube feeding and insulin delegation, and working with epilepsy patients. To succeed in this role, you should be adaptable to changing circumstances and able to quickly adjust your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in changes and contribute with a flexible, solution-oriented work style. In collaboration, you are attentive and smooth, relating to people respectfully and constructively. You communicate clearly and listen actively with a professional approach. As a person, you can empathize with another's perspective or situation without absorbing their emotions. Your communication is clear and precise, ensuring messages are understood and expectations are explicit for all involved. You follow up, remind when necessary, and contribute to good structure in collaborative work.
