About the position As a support educator, you will provide support to service recipients in their daily lives while also having an extended responsibility to ensure that routines, action plans, and structures are followed and developed. This means guiding colleagues in various methods and approaches, as well as planning, implementing, evaluating, and analyzing working methods and practices within the organization. Your approach is based on the service recipients' own conditions and individual support needs. As a support educator, you will work to strengthen the skills and personal development of service recipients, with a clear focus on their own participation and ability to influence their life situation. To ensure good living conditions for service recipients, we work based on a visual, individual, and structured approach (VISA). Examples of tasks: • Plan, implement, evaluate, and analyze working methods and practices within the team • Support and coordinate colleagues to become independent in their work • Perform care interventions • Introduce new employees and, if necessary, mentor staff based on your professional role • Have a good understanding of and follow laws, policies, routines, guidelines, goals, and plans • Document in the operational system. About the workplace Norrängsvägen is located in the northern parts of Örebro, near Svampen. Here, six service recipients live, supported by a dedicated, experienced, motivated, and welcoming staff group of 14 people, four of whom work awake nights. You can read more about what it is like to work within the social services at https://www.orebro.se/jobb/socialtarbete Qualifications: In the role of support educator, it is important that you are confident in yourself, can distinguish between the personal and professional, and can take responsibility for your work by planning and structuring your tasks independently. The role involves a lot of contact with other people, which also requires you to work well with others and communicate clearly with colleagues, service recipients, and other actors in their networks. To succeed as best as possible, you also need to be patient, attentive, flexible, and interested in other people. We want you to be positive and have the ability to uplift and strengthen others in what they are good at and what they need to practice. You must have a good command of the Swedish language to communicate with service recipients and other staff. Furthermore, you should have good computer skills and be able to document in writing as required by the organization. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Requirements: • Degree in higher vocational education as a support educator, treatment assistant, treatment educator, social educator, or activation educator, or alternatively 60 credits in relevant subjects (such as pedagogy, disabilities, psychology, behavioral science, social work, or equivalent) • At least two years of experience in the area of support for people with disabilities • Experience working with low-arousal responses Meritorious: • Experience in care work • Experience with epilepsy • Ability to swim • Experience with Lifecare Scope and start date Employment type: Permanent position Employment rate: 100% Start date: By agreement Number of positions: 1 Working hours: Day, evening, and every other weekend Additional information Read more about our benefits and what it is like to work in Örebro municipality at orebro.se/jobb.
