About this role
Are you an innovative team player with a holistic perspective, flexibility, and a sense of responsibility? Do you want to contribute to development and make a real difference for our customers – together with engaged colleagues? Then you are the one we are looking for!
Your role with us
Our work is permeated by the vision "We lift together" and the core values Participation, Joy, Openness, and Citizen Value. These values are a natural part of our everyday life and our approach – both towards customers and colleagues.
As a support educator, you will guide and implement educational methods in customer-facing work. You will develop educational materials, support the workgroup, and work closely with the unit manager to enhance the educational efforts. From a customer perspective, you will focus on values and quality – strengthening participation, self-determination, and integrity. You will be involved in daily work, mentor colleagues, and stay updated on current, evidence-based knowledge.
In your work, you will use LABB – low-arousal responses, clarifying pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). These methods are fundamental in creating safety, predictability, and an environment where each customer is given the opportunity to succeed based on their circumstances.
Your placement will be at a group home according to LSS on Östra Borggatan. Like all employees, you will participate in daily work, which may also involve evening and weekend shifts based on the needs of the operation.
Within the southern collaboration area, we work flexibly – we are where our customers need us, and the entire area is therefore considered your workplace. We have a working method where we support each other, creating engagement, development, community, and job satisfaction.
Who are we looking for?
You who are applying should have post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities, comprising at least 200 vocational training points or 60 higher education credits. The education should have a clear focus on the field of disabilities in its entirety. We want you to have good knowledge and experience of both intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities. Training and experience in clarifying pedagogy/TEACCH and low-arousal responses are prerequisites for the job. You also need to have training and experience in various communication methods/models aimed at the target group, such as AAC, Conversation Mats, and Snoezelen. Since communication and documentation are part of your responsibilities, you must handle the Swedish language in both speech and writing. We expect you to have basic computer skills, and experience in social documentation is an advantage. A valid driver's license (B) is required.
As a person, you are socially competent with good collaboration skills, stress-resistant, flexible, and able to find solutions in everyday situations. You maintain a professional demeanor towards everyone you encounter in your work. Furthermore, you have the ability to plan and structure your work from a holistic perspective, can make independent decisions while respecting decisions made by others, and can carry out work on behalf of others. You are attentive to the needs of the customers and can work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
