We are now looking for an engaged support educator for one of our group homes within functional support. We aim to build teams characterized by innovation and proactivity, where we collaborate as a team to achieve good results and high quality. Your responsibilities
As a support educator, you will work directly with users who may have intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric diagnoses, various interests, and a range of ages. The focus of your work with the users is to support and create a daily life that provides each individual with a meaningful, manageable, and comprehensible existence.
The approach towards the users is based on a low-arousal response, focusing on creating value by engaging with individuals in a professional manner, communicating with respect for the user's autonomy and personal integrity, and working with clear pedagogical methods.
The support educator's role includes assisting colleagues in establishing users' implementation plans, driving the work forward, ensuring that the implementation plans are followed, evaluated, and developed according to the user's needs. Another part of the job involves maintaining a good overview and being a reliable support to colleagues by ensuring that established, decided, and appropriate routines are documented, followed, and updated.
You will be responsible for, among other things:
• the development of the service's methods
• providing support and methodological guidance in daily work
• working based on assignments from the management team
• being involved in the development within Support and Care
• actively participating in the internal support educator network.
About you
We are looking for someone with relevant education as a support educator, with advanced courses in disabilities. It is an advantage if you have training in Independent Living (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), PERMA, and low-arousal responses.
You take great responsibility for your own and the shared tasks with the best interests of the service and users in focus. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and create a positive atmosphere in interactions. In your work, you are accustomed to taking significant responsibility, distinguishing between personal and professional matters, and adapting your behavior to suit the situation. You can engage in reflective discussions with your colleagues and other professionals you collaborate with to create a shared approach based on each situation.
The new Social Services Act means that services such as functional support and social psychiatry face many new challenges where you, as a support educator, play a significant role alongside colleagues. Working preventively, health-promoting, and always keeping the user's needs at the center are important factors for you as an applicant. We are looking for someone who has a strong ability to be flexible regarding tasks, working hours, and changes in the service.

Additional information:
In Orust Municipality, we apply full-time as the norm, which means you will receive a full-time employment contract. This may involve you working resource shifts in other units than the one you are hired for.
Working hours/duration: Full-time, permanent.
An 8-week schedule with varied working hours, including days, evenings, and every other weekend.
Salary: Individual salary setting
Start date: By agreement
