Are you confident in your pedagogical role and want to work in an environment where participation, self-determination, and respect are fundamental? We are now seeking a support educator for the Meadow group at Ekollonvägen Daily Activity Center (Utsikten).
Currently, approximately 35 people participate in daily activities.
We have a total of 16 employees, including 3 support educators. The operation is divided into three groups: Meadow, Lady's Mantle, and Forest. Together, we work to ensure that all participants feel seen, acknowledged, and involved in their daily lives.
About the Operation
We create a clear, structured, and meaningful occupation through individual daily schedules and implementation plans. Self-determination and the ability to express one's needs are central to our work. Therefore, we actively work with communication support and clarifying pedagogy.
Our operation includes both individual and group activities, such as:
Seated gymnastics, yoga, and walks
Music, computer work, and studies
Conversation groups and thematic work
Wellness activities, e.g., in collaboration with Friskis & Svettis
Sensory garden and large outdoor area
Participants have the opportunity to develop, influence, and be active based on their own conditions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and guide colleagues in pedagogical work
- Lead operational and method meetings
- Implement and develop work methods
- Work with low-arousal approaches and relationship-building
- Responsible for training in social documentation
- Design and follow up on mapping and evaluation materials
- Collaborate internally and externally
- Be part of a pedagogical network in the municipality
- Combine group work with administrative time
You place the individual's needs at the center and actively work on the individual's self-determination and participation.
Start date according to agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Trained support educator, activation educator, or equivalent education
- Confident in the role of support educator, with respectful interaction as a given
- Experience working with and implementing Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)
- Ability to create clarifying environments and structures
- Works with low-arousal approaches and is attentive to individual needs
- Good knowledge of relevant laws and governing documents
- Leads colleagues in a safe and inspiring manner
- Good knowledge of working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism
- Proficient in social documentation
- Driving license is meritorious
