The Department of Health and Social Care provides services, support, care, and assistance to the elderly and individuals with disabilities, as well as being responsible for regulatory activities according to current legislation. The department operates within elderly care, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), social psychiatry, health and medical care, support for relatives, and regulatory activities. All work is carried out with the resident in focus, based on our core values: respect, participation, trust, and security. Together, we make each other better and work towards achieving the vision of the Department of Health and Social Care: quality of life throughout life. The LSS and Social Psychiatry Department is responsible for services, support, care, and assistance for individuals with an approved intervention. The activities include personal assistance, daily activities, group and service housing, short-term stays for children and youth, escorts, respite care, and contact persons, as well as social psychiatry with housing, employment, meeting places, and housing support. Approximately 250 employees work within the LSS and Social Psychiatry Department. JOB DESCRIPTION With us, around 30 children alternate each month with varying numbers of days in their intervention. These children require support due to autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, and varying degrees of challenging behaviors. We are a warm and wonderful team working with a user-centered approach where the user receives support and services based on their individual needs. The intervention can be tailored to the individual's needs as well as the relatives' need for respite. Your role as a support pedagogue involves extended responsibility and authority regarding issues related to pedagogical work that are significant for the user and the development of the operations. Your tasks include establishing routines, working with methods and strategies, ensuring that implementation plans and documentation comply with current legislation, and following up to ensure that user-centered work continues according to the established implementation plan and methods. The support pedagogue's role also includes monitoring the field and participating in the implementation of new evidence-based knowledge in the operations. This role also involves collaborating with users, representatives, relatives, and other individuals in the user's network. In your role, you are expected to adopt a pedagogical perspective, be quality-conscious, meticulous, and committed to achieving the goals of the operations. You will guide colleagues in user-centered work and actively participate in planned interventions and activities with the user. You will need to analyze and find solutions to problems and develop the operations. As a support pedagogue, you are expected to be an engaged and proactive person who cares about the user's independence, self-determination, and creating a functioning and meaningful everyday life for the individual. Through a coaching approach, you strengthen your colleagues' ability to reflect and analyze in connection with planning, implementation, and follow-up of the operations. You enjoy working on continuous improvements, quality development, and enhancing competencies. You will work closely with the unit manager, development leader, and other support pedagogues. You will work according to a schedule with irregular hours, including approximately every fourth weekend. QUALIFICATIONS To work as a support pedagogue, a complete vocational higher education in support pedagogy within the field of disabilities, 200 YH credits, is required. You need to have experience in pedagogical work, clear pedagogical methods, knowledge of diagnoses, alternative communication methods, and at least three years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. You should have very good knowledge of LSS legislation. We consider it advantageous if you have experience working as a support pedagogue, experience with children with special needs, training in low-arousal approaches, and knowledge of sign language communication. Threats and violence may occur, which means you are expected to work in a low-arousal manner and adapt your approach based on the user's needs and issues. You should work from a solution-focused perspective and be able to handle unforeseen events calmly and securely. A valid driver's license (B) is also considered an advantage. As a person, we are looking for someone who is responsible and has a respectful demeanor. You have no problem working independently but see good collaboration within the team as a prerequisite for the development of the workgroup. Furthermore, you have a pedagogical and motivating approach to both your colleagues and the users, with a strong will and drive to promote people's development based on their conditions.
