Job Description
As a Support Educator, you will work on developing and implementing methods and approaches within the organization.
Your responsibilities include building relationships, providing support, guiding, and assisting users in various everyday situations, as well as maintaining social contacts and relationships.
All support measures, such as activities, cleaning, laundry, meals, personal support, and physical care, are based on the individual needs and wishes of the users in accordance with the LSS legislation and the City of Malmö's LSS plan and values.
The work aims to promote independence and participation while being conducted with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination. You will work systematically with social documentation. You will continuously work in a team with quality review and follow-up to ensure this.
You will work agilely and need to have a good ability to collaborate with your colleagues and other stakeholders. You will have a leading role in the educational work and will work closely with a care educator for support and feedback.
You are expected to actively seek solutions and methods that enhance the work. You are also expected to work towards increasing the pedagogical approach that supports each individual's participation and self-determination.
The role also includes the management of medications.
The position includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education comprising at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits. The education should have a clear focus on the area of disabilities and/or the behavioral sciences.
Experience working within LSS for at least 2 years is a requirement. You also need prior experience in establishing and following up on implementation plans according to LSS. Furthermore, we see it as a requirement that you have knowledge of pedagogical methods, such as knowledge and experience in low-arousal approaches and clear pedagogical methods, as well as AAC/TAAC, and therefore have the ability to guide your colleagues in this work.
It is advantageous if you have experience working with individuals within group 1 under LSS and have prior experience in a guiding role. If you also have a B driver's license, we consider it a benefit.
We are looking for someone with a pedagogical perspective, who is quality-conscious, meticulous, and committed to meeting the goals and intentions of the LSS law. To thrive in your professional role, you should have good self-awareness and a positive attitude.
You possess professional maturity and are responsible, creative, and eager to contribute to the development of our organization. You have the ability to work both in a team and independently and take initiative.
You should have a strong will and drive to promote people's development based on their circumstances. You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.

Welcome to Svedalavägen 161, a group home in Unit 6 of the LSS housing department. The users living here have complex support needs, so you need to have good knowledge of disabilities and the law on support and service for certain disabled individuals, LSS.
To assist you in driving quality work to find the right support for each resident, there is a care educator, coordinator, and an available section manager.
