Your new job
Your new role as a support assistant involves providing support to participants and instructing and guiding them in the activities they undertake. We arrange activities for both individual participants and group activities. We tailor the activities to the participants' abilities, needs, and interests. The activities we organize can take place both indoors and outdoors, regardless of the weather. You will work with various participants, which means that routines, working methods, and structures may vary. A low-arousal approach and clear pedagogical methods will be consistent in your work.
Engelbrekt's daily activities primarily serve citizens with intellectual disabilities and autism or autism-like traits.
Your qualifications
For the title of support assistant, a completed upper secondary education program in child and leisure studies with a focus on social work/pedagogical work or a health and care program with a specialization in disability/psychiatry is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as reading comprehension, since the work involves contact with participants, relatives, guardians, and other professionals. The job also includes documentation and reading of work-related information.
Requirements for the position include previous work experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities and experience in low-arousal approaches, as well as knowledge of rehabilitation and habilitation. You should have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and be aware of and able to adapt your working methods to individuals' varying conditions. A valid B driver's license for manual transmission is an advantage.
Personal maturity is highly valued as it helps you understand the situations individuals may find themselves in. You are flexible and see opportunities in changes, quickly adapting as needed. You take responsibility, structure, and prioritize your tasks independently but also work well in a team, where you have significant contact with colleagues, citizens, and other professionals. Building and maintaining relationships through attentiveness and good communication is important to you. You have a pedagogical approach in your communication with citizens and can handle difficult situations professionally while maintaining faith in people's ability to change and develop.

Engelbrekt's daily activities are located in Huskvarna. The operation has 13 employees and approximately 40 citizens. We offer various activities daily for our citizens. Daily activities are an initiative according to LSS (the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The goal of daily activities is to create meaningful engagement that contributes to increased quality of life, personal development, stimulation, and community, as well as promoting participation in society for the individual.

Good to know
The recruitment concerns 2 permanent positions and 1 parental leave cover for approximately 1 year, all positions are full-time. Start date is according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled during weekdays between 07:00 and 17:30. Jönköping Municipality works with full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment. We work with co-planning, which means that work across multiple units may be relevant. Recruitment will be conducted with ongoing selection and interviews.
Upon employment, you will be hired in daily activities with temporary placement at the relevant unit. It may also occur that other unit managers within daily activities may recruit from the pool of candidates from this advertisement.
