The mission of the Social Administration is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and involved in society. With a focus on respect for the individual's right to determine their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and support, assistance for people with disabilities, and help for individuals and families. The Workplace
Within the LSS operations in Trelleborg Municipality, there are, in addition to daily activities, several group homes, children's and youth homes, as well as short-term and leisure activities.
Daily activities are an initiative for individuals of working age with intellectual disabilities and/or autism or acquired brain injury who are not employed or studying. The mission consists of offering meaningful engagement where the initiative is designed and adapted based on the individual's interests and needs, focusing on strengthening the individual's ability to become more independent.

Job Responsibilities
As a support assistant, you are an important person in creating a meaningful and secure everyday life for the participants based on their wishes and needs. You support and encourage them in various activities and social contexts. The goal is for the participants to feel involved, joyful, and to develop their independence.
You will work on mapping resources and skills of the users with a strong focus on increasing or maintaining their independence and participation in society. The work involves establishing implementation plans together with users, carrying out activities, and following up to ensure that the efforts continue according to the implementation plan. We work based on clear pedagogy that aims to make the world as clear and predictable as possible for the individual.
The work is varied and enjoyable. You motivate, guide, and provide support in different situations. Through good interactions and clear communication, you create security and calm. You work in a low-arousal manner, are solution-focused, and can handle unexpected events safely.
As a support assistant, you are expected to be an engaged and proactive person who cares about the individual's independence, self-determination, and creating a functioning and positive everyday life for the individual. You have a positive attitude, are flexible, and possess good collaboration skills. You are also expected to be active in maintaining social documentation relevant to the work and contribute to development work regarding social documentation and implementation plans.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school diploma from the Child and Recreation program, preferably with a focus on social work or pedagogy, or the Health and Care program, preferably with a focus on disabilities. Alternatively, other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
You have experience working with the target group and knowledge of various disabilities. You also have a valid driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.
It is advantageous if you have knowledge of alternative communication methods, clear pedagogy, and experience with documentation. The work can be physically demanding, which requires you to be able to manage this. You also need to have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

You consciously work in a low-arousal manner and adapt your approach based on the user's needs and challenges. You should be able to follow instructions as well as legal requirements and regulations related to the work.
