Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life, through proximity and interaction.
Within specialized housing, we have group and service housing in accordance with the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) for individuals with intellectual and/or psychological disabilities.
Trastvägen is a group housing facility under LSS located in Mariehem, serving individuals with disabilities. The housing offers an environment characterized by respect and professionalism, where each individual has the opportunity to develop according to their own conditions.
We are now seeking a Support Assistant to join our team!
Job Responsibilities
You will guide and support individuals with intellectual and psychological disabilities in their daily lives. You will provide individual, social, and practical support to enable and utilize their personal capabilities, thereby creating conditions for independence.
You will work to engage individuals in their daily life and ensure a meaningful leisure time and/or occupation. Tasks include personal care, practical tasks, and everyday activities.
Work hours are during the day/evening and on weekends. Smoking may occur, so you should not have allergies. Collaborative planning with other disability care services may take place.

You are attentive, calm, and confident in your professional role, motivated by supporting individual independence and development. Furthermore, you are proactive and want to actively contribute to developing our group housing together with colleagues and residents. With creativity and dedication, you find solutions that make daily life meaningful and create participation for each person. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Requirements
- Trained nursing assistant, childcare worker, social worker, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Experience working in healthcare
Merits
- Experience working in disability care services
To communicate with service users, relatives, and colleagues, write and review care documentation, and receive medication delegation, good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing are required.
