About this role

Job Duties Are you interested in making a difference as a support assistant for individuals living in BmSS (Housing with Special Services)? We are currently seeking an engaged support assistant for our location on Slottsskogsgatan, 4th floor in the heart of Majorna. Slottsskogsgatan has another unit on the 3rd floor, and the floors collaborate closely. You will have your base employment on one unit but will also work with the 3rd floor. Our residents are individuals under 65 with acquired brain injuries and dementia. The work includes lift techniques, personal care and hygiene, medication management by delegation, activities, cooking, and cleaning. This also involves collaboration with healthcare, guardians, social workers, and relatives. You will have a dynamic job that includes accompanying residents on leisure activities and walks. We offer you a varied and stimulating position with significant personal responsibility. Challenging behaviors may occur, which requires a calm and professional approach and the ability to adapt support to individual needs and situations. We work with the Individual's Needs in Focus (IBIC) methodology, ensuring residents are involved and can influence their daily activities and support needs. Our goal is to help residents maintain the most independent life possible, with quality care as the foundation. By following implementation plans, we ensure residents' needs remain central. You will be a contact person for one or more residents, which involves primary responsibility for communication with relatives and other networks. This includes actively working with implementation plans developed and reviewed in consultation with the individual, as well as ongoing documentation. All social documentation is done in the Treserva documentation system. Those unfamiliar with Gothenburg City's systems will receive training. Working hours include day and evening shifts, on-call sleeping shifts, and every other weekend. Qualifications We seek trained personnel with a support assistant qualification, child and leisure program with a social or pedagogical focus. Care and nursing program with disability specialization, comprising at least 200 vocational credits, 120 higher education credits, or an equivalent combination of at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience supporting persons with disabilities, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Communication is crucial, requiring excellent Swedish language skills in speech and writing. Candidates not meeting Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 qualifications may be offered a language test through Educateit. Challenging behaviors may occur, so experience and knowledge of low-affective approach (LAB), alternative and complementary communication (AKK), and motivational interviewing (MI) are preferred. Experience with Individual's Needs in Focus (IBIC) is also advantageous. Experience in healthcare and social care is merit, especially with young dementia and BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia). Good computer skills and social documentation knowledge are also appreciated. We expect you to show respect and consideration for those you encounter professionally. You listen to understand others' needs and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You can work collaboratively to complete tasks and achieve goals. You distinguish between issues and personalities and can make well-grounded decisions under time pressure. Other details follow the original text's format, including selection process, Gothenburg City's equal opportunities statement, employment benefits, and application instructions.
