The Social Services Department works to ensure that all citizens can receive the support they may need in various situations. This is done within the framework of social services' mandate and various legislations, and based on the department's core values. This can include home care, special housing, advice and support for people with disabilities, financial assistance, or help with substance abuse problems. The department also includes the municipality's competence supply unit. The Social Services Department is divided into five areas: Home Care, Care and Nursing Homes, Healthcare, Individual and Family Care, and the area for people with disabilities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The support assistant role in supported housing involves providing support, help, and services to residents within the supported housing and carrying out housing support assignments for people in need of support in their own homes outside the supported housing. The primary focus is on social and practical interventions aimed at increasing individuals' development and opportunities for independence. The role includes social documentation according to legislation, as well as establishing, following up, and revising implementation plans. You will contribute to the operation's quality development and participate in various meetings, training, and supervision. The work is conducted with great respect for residents' right to self-determination and integrity. You will work using a clarifying and pedagogical approach, with good knowledge and understanding of the importance of low-affective interaction. You will also have responsibilities as a contact person and collaborate with relatives. The role includes delegated tasks from nurses such as medication management and, when applicable, rehabilitation and training interventions from physiotherapists/occupational therapists. The work may also include mentoring students from high school educational programs, such as Care and Healthcare Program or Child and Leisure Program. QUALIFICATIONS Approved grades from the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social work or the Care and Healthcare Program. To document effectively, good computer skills and excellent Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, are required. You should have knowledge of current legislation regarding LSS and Social Services Act (SOL) You should have documented experience working with young adults with neuropsychiatric disabilities/autism You should have experience working with individuals with mental health challenges A driver's license for manual transmission is required. As a person, you are confident and have a respectful approach. We want you to have good collaboration skills and the ability to work independently. The role includes maintaining a salutogenic approach to enable individuals to have a comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful daily life with opportunities for continuous development. You should have a pedagogical and motivating approach. You will work according to a schedule with service during daytime, evenings, weekends, and night shifts. Solitary work may occur. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability for the position. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Background Check To work in user and patient-close settings, you must submit an extract from the police criminal record. You should request the extract from the National Police Board using the form "Extract from Criminal Record" in the form archive on the police website. Karlskoga Municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area and therefore has a responsibility to protect the status of the Finnish language. This includes offering preschool and elderly care in Finnish.
