About this role

Within the Social Administration of Järfälla Municipality, there is the LSS operational area, which is responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with various disabilities. The municipality has several group homes and service residences where our fantastic employees work to support and help residents create a meaningful and structured life with improved quality of life. We are now seeking a dedicated support assistant for a group home in Jakobsberg. In the group home, individuals with disabilities reside who require more individualized support in their daily lives. This involves close work that includes personal care, communication, and creating structure and security in the residents' lives. Therefore, you need to have a good understanding of both physical and cognitive disabilities and be able to work based on the individual's needs and current condition. At the workplace, a committed and skilled team works closely together to create a safe and predictable everyday life for those living there. You will help create a meaningful day for our users, which means you enjoy taking daily walks, being creative, and coming up with activities. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES You will be offered a varied job where you primarily meet individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities. The role of the support assistant is to motivate and support individuals in their daily lives, in their homes, and out in the community. Social activities, both individual and group-based, are also part of the assignment. Work in a low-arousal and pedagogical manner to create calmness and predictability. Provide support in understanding and managing emotions, frustration, and impulses. You need to have good knowledge of how to handle emotions and be stress-resistant. Communication: Adapt communication according to the individual's needs, for example through visual support, clarifying pedagogy, or alternative communication (AAC). Medical interventions: Manage medication according to delegation and be observant of changes in health and well-being. Documentation: Write social documentation and according to guidelines, follow implementation plans, and contribute to the development of support. Collaboration: Work in a team and closely cooperate with relatives, management, HSE, and other stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or has other relevant education that the employer considers equivalent. You need to have experience working in the field and have worked with individuals with autism, intellectual, and mental disabilities. You should have knowledge and experience of low-arousal approaches, enabling you to remain calm and stress-resistant in challenging situations, as well as a good understanding of communication and clarifying pedagogy. In addition to experience and competence, you should be flexible, responsive, creative, solution-focused, responsible, calm, positively inclined, and have a pedagogical approach. We place great emphasis on your personal suitability and maturity, ability to be part of a team, as well as taking initiative and working in a structured and independent manner. You should also be able to express yourself clearly and have a good ability to communicate in both speech and writing, as we have documentation responsibilities. Requirements: A valid driver's license (B) as there is access to a vehicle used in the operation. The position you are applying for is currently scheduled with day and evening shifts, as well as every other weekend.
