The Functional Support Department is divided into three units: the Authority Unit, the Unit for Individuals with High Support Needs, and the Traditional Unit. We are now looking for a Support Assistant for the unit that works with individuals with significant support needs, the Unit for Individuals with High Support Needs. We are seeking someone who has a sense for engaging with individuals and has the ability to work in a structured manner to create a calm, safe environment for our residents. The workplace is located in a modern facility built for this purpose. The target group is Group 1 under LSS, which includes individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism-like conditions. There are often additional diagnoses and behavioral challenges as well. The residence is thoughtfully designed and physically structured to reduce stress in the daily lives of the users. There are spaces for both privacy and social development, and it is also planned for a high staff-to-resident ratio. The outdoor environments are tailored for the target group with walking paths and various activity areas. The group home and workplace are located just outside the urban area of Trelleborg. The easiest way to commute to and from the workplace is by car. What we can offer you: - A modern group home as your workplace - Structured working methods and work environment - Internal professional development - Municipality-wide benefits - The best colleagues Job Responsibilities: As a Support Assistant, you are a key person in supporting and guiding users based on a pedagogical and practical approach in their daily lives, including care/hygiene, activities, cooking, and skills training. The goal is for users to achieve increased independence. Based on the users' implementation plans, you will work to establish, drive, and follow up on the goals of the implementation plan and realize the highest possible quality and participation in daily life. Your primary task is to instill calmness and create a sense of security for the individual you meet. You need to observe and respond to the individual's mood and needs while listening and adapting your communication based on the situation and requirements. You will adhere to the existing structures and provide support to the individual while striving to collaborate with the educators in the organization to develop support and structures for the individual. You will also support the establishment of good contact with relatives, healthcare, and other important contacts for the individual. Within the internal organization, you will primarily collaborate with other Support Assistants, Support Educators, and management to continuously develop the operation and achieve set goals. Working hours are on a rolling schedule; day/evening and weekends. Qualifications: To be considered for the position, you must have certain foundational qualifications in terms of education, work experience, and your approach to managing both yourself and those you encounter in your work. We require you to have a high school diploma or vocational qualification from the Health and Care program, the Child and Leisure program, or another equivalent education deemed comparable by the employer. You should have at least one year of work experience in either functional support/LSS, the educational field, or another area where you have worked with and met individuals with disabilities, such as individuals with autism or challenging behavior, preferably from a pedagogical perspective. The job requires you to have good computer skills and experience with documentation, as you will need to read and write daily notes in various systems. This also requires a good ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. A valid B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is required to commute to work and to transport users between the residence and activities. Good physical fitness and comfort with a physically active job are necessary, as the work involves activities with the individual you support in their daily life.
