Support Assistant for Children and Youth Services

We are looking for individuals who want to work in our children and youth services, short-term accommodation, and short-term supervision according to LSS. Bromölla Municipality operates short-term accommodation and supervision for children and young people at Regnbågen and is now seeking to strengthen the staff team with two positions. Regnbågen is located in Gualöv, close to nature, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities with the children. At Regnbågen, there are four rooms for overnight stays. Here, children and young people enjoy a meaningful, safe, and fun leisure time. Activities are tailored to their needs, interests, and wishes. We encourage community through excursions and activities, allowing the children to socialize and develop their social skills. Each child receives an implementation plan with goals that contribute to their development and well-being. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** As a support assistant, you are responsible for ensuring that the children and young people receive the support they need based on their specific requirements. You will also work closely with the children’s and young people’s guardians and other stakeholders, such as schools and children and youth habilitation services. Together with them, and based on the children’s and young people’s wishes and participation, we design the best possible support for each individual. You will participate in and support the children and young people in all activities within the residence, as well as indoor and outdoor activities. Care work and hygiene routines are part of the job, along with tasks such as medication management and tube feeding. In your daily work, you will encounter a target group that requires clear pedagogical approaches and low-arousal responses to ensure a functioning everyday life. Regnbågen is staffed around the clock, which means your working hours will be scheduled - days, evenings, weekends, and nights. Schedules are established every four weeks. The service operates according to family needs, which means that stay times may vary. Schedules and working hours change according to the needs of the children and young people, especially during holidays and breaks. The basis is to work two out of four weekends. You may also work in other services within disability care as part of your employment. **QUALIFICATIONS** We are looking for candidates with training as a support assistant, support pedagogue, or education from the healthcare and social care program or the child and youth recreation program, or other training deemed equivalent by the employer. It is important that you have clear, pedagogical, and straightforward communication. Furthermore, it is essential that you are attentive, responsible, and confident in yourself. The ability to act with a low-arousal response is crucial. To function and thrive in the job, you need to collaborate with guardians and other staff, as well as have the ability to plan and structure the day and document in journal systems. Given that the children and youth services work with an active target group, this requires physical capacity/ability. You enjoy spending time outdoors for various activities with the children. Experience in the LSS area and knowledge of AAC, self-harming behavior, aggressive behavior, low-arousal responses, and psychiatry are advantageous. As we are keen to find the right person for the position, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. Education in the pedagogical field or psychiatry is a plus. Since the job involves communication and documentation, you need to be proficient in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and have good computer skills. A valid B driver's license is required, with manual transmission.
